Today, I thought of a good idea and it is how to give you a killer style look with your next outfit. Doesn’t matter if you are aiming for formal or casual, you are still going to look smart either ways. Today’s post is about the perfect shirt and tie combination that you can wear. Keep in mind that these combos would also work with chinos or denim, if you’re going for a more casual vibe.
Simple and straightforward (White semi-spread shirt, red and green plaid tie, green and gray plaid tie)
If you are looking to opt for something simple then you can’t go wrong with the classic white shirt. The trick with the white shirt is that there’s no chance of clashing or mismatching your tie. White allows you to be bolder with the colour and pattern of your tie; the simpler your shirt, the bolder your tie can be. Let the rest of your outfit be n neutral or dark solids.
Texture-focused (Green micro gingham, brown glen plaid tie, brown multicolor dot tie)
The micro gingham pattern is small. So small, in fact, that from afar, you can barely tell there’s a pattern at all. It looks like a green shirt with a bit of texture. Because of this, you still have plenty of opportunity to incorporate a bold tie. Just make sure the pattern is larger in scale than the shirt pattern. A micro gingham tie, for example, would look a little weird.
Bold shirt, subdued tie (Red plaid shirt, navy blue check tie, dark grey herringbone tie)
So for the other two combos, I have been going with the bold ties and subdued shirts but for this one we are pushing things up with a bold shirt and a subtly-patterned tie. You’ll notice the tie has an interesting check pattern, but because of its tonal shades, it won’t compete with the shirt. Alternatively, you could wear the dark grey herringbone tie; same idea, different color and pattern. Make sure the rest of your outfit is in neutral or dark solids.
