Stars at the 2018 Brit Awards made sure they made one of the biggest nights for the UK’s music scene a night to remember as they carried white roses as a symbol of their solidarity with both the Time’s Up and #MeToo movements. The flowers were a subtle reminder of the ongoing conversation surrounding gender inequality that didn’t detract from the extravagant, frilly frocks favored by so many of the evening’s stars. Rita Ora picked a Ralph & Russo couture gown featuring white and mint-colored feathers, while Millie Bobby Brown chose a tiered white Rodarte dress with black polka dots. Dua Lipa went all-in with a pink tulle concoction in which she twirled, air-kissed and squatted on the red carpet, because when you’re a star you can do what you want. To balance out the lavish gowns, there were a few stars in more demure outfits: Former Spice Girl Emma Bunton wore a simple black leather trench dress, while Rosie Huntington-Whitely paired her own short Saint Laurent LBD with sheer hose. All in all, the levels of dressiness varied widely, but memorable looks were presented throughout the range.
